All the eggs are supplied by our troupe of assorted chickens. We have about a dozen, and they are free to range all over the farm, so you might see them in the lane, on the fields or in one of the gardens.
At present we have Sussex light utility, Araucana, Cheshire, Copperhead and Cuckoo Maran hens. This is Cresty, she is three years old and she's a Cheshire. - a blue egg layer. They all live in two coops in the farmhouse garden, and take great delight in telling us when they have laid an egg,
They supply us with a mix of brown or blue eggs, sometimes laid in the flower beds or under a bush, although fortunately they do usually choose the hen coop.
